This fight isn’t over! REACT Alliance is spearheading crucial initiatives to safeguard our ocean, its incredible wildlife, and the cherished Central Coast lifestyle from the threats posed by the Central Coast Offshore Wind Project. We host impactful educational events, fund critical research and litigation, and launch advocacy campaigns to raise awareness and foster community engagement.
Despite the January 2025 Presidential Action halting new offshore wind leasing and reviewing federal practices, offshore wind energy projects in the Humboldt and Morro Bay Wind Energy Areas (WEAs) are still forcefully moving forward with development, threatening our ocean, wildlife, and communities.

Research, Litigation, and Campaigns:
We’re currently raising funds for our renewed billboard along Highway 1, marketing campaigns, supporting critical research, litigation, and additional campaigns to combat offshore wind development. Our billboards on Highway 1 have served as a moving reminder of what we stand to lose, raising awareness about the risks of unchecked industrial development.

Attend Our Monthly Meetings: Connect with our team, learn about our initiatives, and share your ideas at our monthly meetings, occurring every 1st Wednesday of the month from 6-8pm at The Benedict in Morro Bay (1401 Quintana Rd, Morro Bay)
Help with Upcoming Events: Volunteer your time to assist with upcoming events like S.O.S. 2025, from setup to outreach. Reach out to Contact@REACTalliance.org to get involved.
Spread the Word: Pass out flyers in your community to raise awareness about the impacts of offshore wind development. Request flyers by emailing Contact@REACTalliance.org.
Speak at Public Meetings: Join us in advocating and speaking at public meetings to ensure our community’s voice is heard. Visit our Events Page to learn about upcoming opportunities.
Send Emails to Agencies: Help us advocate by sending emails to the agencies listed at the bottom of our Events Page, urging them to prioritize sustainable development. Email us to request templates and guidance.

Shining the Light on Offshore Wind Energy Forum – A resounding success! (Click here to watch the recording of the Forum) Our recent forum on November 9, 2024, at Swallow Creek Ranch in Cayucos drew over 170 attendees who came together to explore the environmental, economic, and community impacts of offshore wind energy development. The event featured keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and concluded with music by Jill Knight and dancing until sunset, equipping our community with the knowledge to advocate for sustainable development that respects our local heritage and environment.
Save our Coast Fundraiser: Celebrating Our Coastal Communities
A fundraiser to end offshore wind development was held at Tidelands Park in Morro Bay on July 26th 2025. Roughly 500 people attended. We celebrated our coastal heritage with a day of music, art, and inspiration, with proceeds directly supporting our efforts to preserve the coastal environment and community integrity from offshore wind energy developments.
